about us

field & vine has a commitment to local farms and purveyors. we believe that its’s important to cook in alignment with our region. all of our ingredients are sustainably sourced and our menu evolves with the changing of new england’s seasons. we make everything by hand from scratch and take a simple approach to our food, allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves. all of our wines are chosen to mimic that same philosophy, they are created by small producers who are dedicated to organic/biodynamic farming and minimal intervention. they are of a time and place.

we have recently become part of a network of bars and restaurants all over the country that have adopted a "gratuity included" approach to their operations. this model incorporates a 3% kitchen administrative fee along with a 20% gratuity into their billing structure.

we do this because we believe in our team and the service they provide. the pandemic hit service workers especially hard and we adopted this method then. we know that the restaurant system as a whole is broken in many ways and this is our way of taking care of our team and keeping our doors open.

about our admin fee: a 3% kitchen administration fee is added to all guest checks for our non-tipped employees. this fee goes directly towards the back of house staff to help close the wage gap and contribute to a more livable pay. this is our way of being transparent and letting money directly go to the hardworking kitchen. massachusetts law states that kitchen staff can not be included in a tip pool, so instead of raising prices on the menu we are adding a fee that goes nowhere else but to our beloved, hardworking boh team. there are many changes that need to be made to our industry to set up a better balance- this is a small step in the right direction.
